The Image Mosaic is black and white, and centered around the word "Image." It seeks to commemorate John Lennon. However, it draws more attention to the message of peace, love, unity than the man himself. This message of imagining "living in a world of peace" is positive and effective and evokes great things, but memorializes Lennon's believes not necessarily Lennon himself.

The multitude of tiles represents a unification of pieces to form a art work or whole. The position they are places creates the eye to view the piece in a clockwise notion, bringing emphasis to the circle and evoking the continuance of the message of peace. The fact that it lies flat is inviting to the public. It allows for you to engage with the memorial, unlike other memorial which stand imposing on you. The 1-dimensional factor allows for the public to relate and engage with the to the piece as much or as little as they feel like doing so.

The black and white aspect of the mosaic makes it unimposing. It does however, dilute the importance that the piece could hold. The shape of the memorial is also significant in that it is a circle. Circles convey unity and ongoing cycles. The circle in this specific mosaic communicates the ongoing message of peace, love, and harmony amongst humanity. The 1-dimensional aspect of the memorial and lack of color takes from the impact the mosaic has on the public.

The artwork in is mundane state does not reflect the significance it has on the public. The memorial almost calls for improvement or life by lacking color and dimension. When adorned with flowers and artifacts it draws more attention, eludes to a more bright emotion, and becomes more prominent in the public eye.
